If anyone would like to buy a ticket, bid for any of the auction items (list to be posted soon), or even donate a prize for the auction – please contact either Paul & Nina at La Bocaina, or any of the 9Lives Lanzarote volunteers.
Before you throw your Xmas cards away, please consider donating them to 9 Lives Lanzarote.
We need them and they can be recycled.
You can drop them off at Sounds Familiar in PDC or Terali Shoes in Puerto Calero marked for for “9 Lives”, or at Bernie’s house if you know where it is.
We need them for tags for our future campaigns. Even better if you can cut them into label size.
Thanks,
Bernie
Well done all who were involved this week helping to reach our target of spaying/neutering 300 cats, which we have now exceeded!
We have to date done 309 cats, plus 2 dogs, and numerous other operations. None of this would have been possible without the determination and loyalty of the volunteers, and the hard work of the vets and veterinary assistants. A big thank you for all your help!
Important Note: we finish the campaign tomorrow evening. Sorry, no more cats after that, and apologies to the areas not covered – we can only do so much without the number of volunteers…
We started our trap/neuter/release annual campaign on November 8th and finished this evening. We will commence again as soon as another vet arrives next Monday.
To date we have caught and operated on 266 cats/kittens and tested for AIDS and leukemia. We have also spayed 2 bitches (dogs), rehomed 6 kittens, and the vets have done numerous other operations such as hernias, tail amputations and eye removals.
I would like to say a big “Thank You” to all involved so far, especially the volunteers who have been out trapping early mornings and late evenings, and without whom this campaign could not have gone ahead.
A big “Thank You” goes to SARA for letting us use their surgery whilst their vet Laura has been away. They have had their daily routine interfered with considerably and have been very helpful and patient with us.
Thanks also to Feli Larrossa for his authority to oversee.
Will keep you all updated at the end of next week.
We will really need the help of more volunteers next week as our areas are quite spread out. If anybody can help with transporting even half way to Playa Blanca, then this will take the pressure off.
Please contact me if you are able to help, if only for one day.
Well done everybody!
Regards,
Bernie
